Health and Human Services Minister Xavier Becerra announced a breakthrough case of Covid on Monday, testing positive for the second time in less than a month.

Becerra, 64, has been vaccinated, boosted and is not considered to be in close contact with President Joe Biden.

This morning in Sacramento, US Secretary of Health and Human Services, Xavier Becerra, tested positive for COVID-19 after an antigen test. He has been fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms,” the agency said in a statement.

“He will continue to perform his duties as HHS secretary in seclusion.”
