‘He deserves an Oscar’: Patrice Evra claims Ezgjan Alioski made the most of Nicolas Pepe’s headbutt after Arsenal forward was sent off during a stalemate

- Patrice Evra finds Alioski’s reaction to the headbutt a bit overly dramatic
Patrice Evra has questioned Ezgjan Alioski’s reaction to the headbutt that Nicolas Pepe showed off the field during Sunday’s draw between Arsenal and Leeds.
Things boiled after 50 minutes as the pair exchanged nudges before Pepe made the decisive contact, with Alioski quickly falling to the ground as Reiss Nelson worked his way with the ball.
Referee Anthony Taylor stopped playing when the North Macedonia held his face and after watching the images on the monitor on the field, waved the red card to give Pepe an early bath.

“It came out of frustration, but you can see that Pepe is not happy and it’s just a frustration and he has to say sorry to all of his teammates,” Evra said after the game.
Arsenal had a plan and then it all changed. Alioski deserves an Oscar, I mean come on, it seemed like he broke his nose from his reaction, but it was silly of Pepe. Don’t come and cry if you don’t play the next game.
Freddie Ljungberg also had his say: ‘The rules are the rules, you can’t do that in today’s game. Pepe hasn’t done much and he will be disappointed.
“Tierney has a bit of a head start and I like that. He showed that he has something about himself. At Pepe, he stopped progressing and looked frustrated. I thought this would have been a good match for him and a match winner.
