Viewers watching the Super Bowl on Paramount+ are reporting issues with the streaming service.

The flood of complaints came just minutes after the Big Game, when customers reported unexplained crashes and error screens.

Frustrated observers subsequently flocked to social media to see if anyone else was experiencing the same thing.

As of 7 p.m., it was unclear what caused the service to go down, but the problems appear to persist.

Subscribers forced to miss precious moments of the 49ers-Chiefs showdown are now making their displeasure with Paramount known, with the game already underway.

‘Anyone else dealing with Paramount and constantly failing?’ one user wrote, as streamers began airing complaints before the game even started.

‘Yeah! “It’s incredibly frustrating,” someone responded, while many others expressed similar sentiments.

“I subscribed to @paramountplus specifically to watch the Super Bowl,” another wrote. “I can’t go 5 minutes without it crashing.”

Others complained of receiving the same error messages for hours while preparing for the event.

“I spent over an hour trying to get a live stream of the Super Bowl, only for Paramount+ to crash!” one observer wrote around 6 p.m., 30 minutes before the game’s official start time, when most tune in.

“Paramount+ failed,” another added at the time, posting an error message as proof.

Another user, while posting a nearly identical snapshot, asked other X users: Is this happening to anyone else streaming through paramount+?

The failed stream even forced some customers to rummage through their closets to pull out their old antennas, despite paying a monthly premium to access the multibillion-dollar entertainment company’s relatively new streaming service.

‘Yeah. I was banned from the app three times. I switched to antenna,” one user wrote, as the error messages for some seemed to ease.

“At first it froze every few minutes, but it seems to have figured it out on its own,” someone wrote. “I hope it doesn’t happen again.”

For others, the error messages persisted, with some telling users to “(check) your Internet connection or restart your router.”

Others complained about having an ‘error code 3002’, while some apparently gave up as the first half neared its end.

“I literally missed the Super Bowl because of @paramountplus,” one such user wrote at 7:45 p.m., just as the Niners scored their first touchdown.

Paramount Plus costs between $5.99 and $11.99 per month, or between $59.99 and $119.99 per year. Paramount bought the rights to the Super Bowl from CBS, a common broadcaster, in 2021. The game attracts more than 200 million views each year.

The streaming service has yet to address technical difficulties on its official X account, which currently provides live updates on the game.

The service currently has around 70 million customers and is in the middle of an ongoing streaming war with rivals such as Max, Amazon and Netflix.

As of Sunday, it still ranks fourth in terms of number of subscribers among these companies.
