Harry Styles says his new investment “feels like coming home.”
The former One Direction star and Dunkirk actor has invested in a new live music arena in Manchester.
The Co-op Live location, with a capacity of 23,500, is slated to open in 2023 after obtaining planning permission in September.
‘Coming home’: Harry Styles is ‘actively involved in the development of the project’
The 26-year-old musician will be “ actively involved in the development of the project, ” said Oak View Group (OVG), the development and investment company building the arena.
Brit Award winner Styles said: ‘Manchester is an incredible city, full of wonderful people, and I couldn’t be more pleased to be involved in this project. It feels very much like coming home. ‘
The £ 350 million project will create 3,500 jobs during construction and an additional 1,000 once the site opens, according to OVG.
The location was named Co-op Live after OVG collaborated with retailer Coop to develop the site.
According to OVG, Styles’ first job was delivering newspapers for a cooperative store as a teenager.
