Harry Redknapp and wife Sandra have revealed they are “very excited” to be grandparents for the eighth time – after their son Jamie and girlfriend Frida Andersson announced they are expecting a baby.

Jamie, 48, and Frida, 37, revealed the news of their first child in May. They have six children together – Jamie shares Charles, 16, and Beau, 12, with ex Louise Redknapp, while Frida shares four with hedge fund manager Jonathan Lourie, 58.

Speak with The mirrorHarry, 74, said: ‘Jamie is very happy and Frida is happy. We are lucky that Jamie already has two boys, Charley and Beau, and our other son Mark has five children, so this will be grandchild number eight. We’ve got our hands full!’

As for the sex of the baby, Harry added that the couple is keeping it a secret.

After Harry’s I’m A Celebrity win in 2018, the hearts of the nation were warmed by his and Sandra’s love story.

They met in 1964 at a dance in East London and have been inseparable ever since.

The couple in love revealed their secrets to a happy marriage, with Harry stating that he loves Sandra “to pieces.”

Sandra said, “I think the secret of our marriage is talking and never sleeping in a row. We understand each other and are just happy to be together.’

Last year they gave up their Sandbanks mansion to move to a beautiful five-bedroom house in a leafy suburb of Poole.

About leaving their 25-year-old mansion, Harry, who recently appeared in Eastenders, said: ‘It’s a beautiful place, but because it’s on the water, it got too busy for us. We’ve lived on the water for 25 years and we just wanted some variety.’

Harry and Sandra recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary, but the couple admitted they aren’t big partygoers, and Harry didn’t like the attention that was on him.

Sandra said she eats good food at a restaurant instead, or cooks for him at home.

The former football manager, who admitted he would have liked to manage England, will celebrate his 75th birthday next year.

He explains that he’s still “so busy” and hopes he’ll slow down, even going so far as to say he wouldn’t chase anything unless it was “something fun.”
