Harry Connick Jr’s wife, Jill Goodacre, was one of Victoria’s Secret’s top models in the 1980s.
She looked stunning in lace lingerie for the brand and also appeared on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine.
The viewer was so famous that in 1994 she appeared as herself in an episode of Friends with Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox. The episode was titled The One with the Blackout.
The 60-year-old Colorado native battled breast cancer for five years and then recovered. The former model made the revelation in people magazine in 2017, where he said a lump was detected during an ultrasound that forced him to have two consecutive surgeries. Later, the drug tamoxifen caused her to gain weight.
At the Met Gala in New York in 2018, she looked amazing again in a tight black dress.
This week, Harry posted a photo with the love of his life on Instagram and the power couple looked as happy as ever at a football match.
Harry Connick Jr’s wife, Jill Goodacre, was one of Victoria’s Secret’s top models in the 1980s. She looked stunning in lace lingerie for the brand.
Jill often appeared on magazine covers, such as this one, the November 1988 issue of Cosmopolitan.
At the Met Gala, the beauty showed off a slim waist and toned arms while taking photos on the gold carpet.
The beauty modeled a black dress that appeared to have a spider web design with a mermaid finish.
She had her hair partially up and was wearing pretty makeup with diamond earrings and a black clutch.
Her talk show host husband struggled with the cancer news, telling People last year: “I was scared of losing her, absolutely.” I wasn’t going to let her see that, but I did.
One of the most difficult things for this mother of three to deal with has been the weight caused by the tamoxifen she has had to take.
“I’ve always been a pretty fit person, so being rounder and heavier and not being able to do much about it has been difficult. “It’s taken away a lot of my self-confidence,” Jill said.
Early days: the couple in 1991 in Los Angeles
In October 2012, Goodacre underwent a routine annual mammogram. The results were good. But then she was told to also have an ultrasound because she had “dense breasts.”
During the ultrasound “something was detected” and Jill was asked to undergo a biopsy.
The results were hard to hear: The bikini model had stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma.
“I was afraid of losing her, absolutely. I wasn’t going to let her see that, but I did. I know from the loss of my mother that the worst can happen. “She’s my best friend and I really don’t know what I would do without her,” the singer said.
Harry lost his mother to ovarian cancer when he was just 13 years old.
Telling his children was difficult. Together, the couple has Georgia, Sara Kate and Charlotte. “It broke my heart,” Jill said.
He immediately needed a lumpectomy. Radiation would come later, although he was able to skip chemotherapy.
“The lumpectomy did not come out with clean margins,” he said. The site explained that pathology tests showed she also had “extensive ductal carcinoma in situ, a less invasive form of the disease.”
He had to undergo a second surgery the next day.

“And then the radiation completely wiped me out,” Jill added.
But the worst has been taking tamoxifen for even five years.
Harry said it’s been hard for her to look fuller.
“It’s part of how the cancer and the treatment impacted her, and it was a real problem, although she will always be the most beautiful woman in the world,” her husband said.
They waited so long to tell the world because they didn’t want to “curse him in some way,” she told People.
“But we wanted to be okay on the other side of things before we told everyone. All the doctors say that after five years things are looking optimistic, so we’re starting to feel pretty good,” he added.
“I’ll always be a little nervous, always having to get checkups, always hoping it doesn’t happen again.”
Jill spoke on her husband’s talk show. Harass about his cancer diagnosis.
In the show, which People was able to see exclusively, Harry tells his wife: “All I wanted to do was grow old with you and spend as many years with you as possible.”

Jill replies: ‘You always used to say that: “I just want to grow old with you.”‘
‘It’s true. I wanted to know what you would look like when you grew up. … I made the right decision,” he added.
A Texas native, Jill married Harry in 1994 when they were both at the peak of their careers.
She was a model who worked for Victoria’s Secret and appeared on the cover of Cosmopolitan. And she appeared as herself on Friends.
Harry has sold more than 30 million records and appeared in films such as Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock. Connick Jr was a judge on American Idol with Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban. He now also had his own talk show called Harry.
