Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have reportedly been left out of plans for the procession after King Charles III’s coronation on May 6.
According leaked test plansobtained by The Times of London, there appears to be room for “only working royals.”
The list of participants includes the King’s sister, Anne, Princess Royal, and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence. The King’s younger brother, Prince Edward, and his wife Sophie, the newly titled Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, will also appear in the procession along with some other adult royal cousinsDeadline reports.
The embarrassed brother of the king, Prince Andrew, did not receive an invitation to participate in the procession, nor did his daughters, Princesses Beatriz and Eugenia. The event is shaping up to be a third of the estimated size of that of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
The leaked information may surprise some, as Harry and Meghan were officially invited to the coronation earlier this month. However, their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have not received invitations, the Times reports.
It hasn’t been revealed whether or not Harry and Meghan have chosen to attend, but they surely won’t be joining the procession if they choose to show up.
Royal Family drama has often been in the spotlight in recent months, made worse by the release of Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir in January.
Prince William was said to be “furious” over the details shared in the book, which spoke of a time he allegedly physically assaulted Harry and called Meghan “difficult” and “rude”.
Although Harry is reunited with his brother and father to walk in Queen Elizabeth’s funeral procession in 2022, it looks like he won’t be at this upcoming event.
