Horrifying footage captured the moment skaters faced death while performing tricks at the top of a 47-storey skyscraper.

In the video posted to Reddit on Wednesday, the pair are seen skating on top of the Scape Swanston building in Melbourne’s CBD.

“Just casually skateboarding on top of a 40-story building,” the post said.

In the footage, the reckless duo is seen risking their lives and the safety of innocent people on the ground.

One of the two was practicing tricks, while the other filmed his partner as he carried out his senseless destruction.

As the video progressed, there were surprisingly no security signs in the building, so the two casually continued their alarming antics.

The Scape Swanston building has no safety railings, which certainly adds to the dangerous thrill.

Social media users were quick to condemn the skaters and their dangerous antics.

‘This pisses me off. If you want to be a jerk and kill yourself, that’s fine with me,” one wrote.

‘But DO NOT risk falling off a building onto the people below and DO NOT risk a heavy object like a skateboard falling and killing the people below. “These bastards should be arrested.”

A second added: ‘At that height I don’t think you even need a heavy object to kill the people below. The speed of something as small as a watch would be like that of a bullet.

Another commenter was worried about the innocent people on the ground.

“Imagine going about your business trying not to sit in bird shit outside the museum and then skating from the sky up sends you skyward,” they wrote.
