Harrods has been training staff to intervene if shoppers or customers are sexually harassed, amid a worrying epidemic of crime in stores.
The London department store said it introduced a policy last year requiring all employees to receive mandatory training on the issue.
Harrods now has 50 staff designated as sexual harassment support officers across its business, which includes airport concessions and Knightsbridge store.
Additionally, all employees must take an online course on how to recognize sexual harassment and how to respond if they observe any type of harassment or inappropriate behavior.
Retailers have urged Labour to act to ensure police take retail crime more seriously amid record levels of shoplifting.
Sales at Harrods rose 8 per cent to a record £898.4m for the year to February 3, 2024, the accounts showed.
But profits fell 65 per cent to £162.2m from £470.8m after a one-off cost to get rid of future pension liabilities in a deal with Scottish Widows.
