Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is using his religion as a platform for social commentary once again after objecting to a particular scene at the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony.
In one segment of the lengthy, melodious production, a group of drag queens stretch out along a raised red carpet.
Its design seemed to resemble Leonardo da Vinci’s painting, ‘The Last Supper’.
Several people took to social media to express their outrage at the protest, including Butker.
He tweeted a video of the performance, quoting a Bible verse: Galatians 6:7-8.
A scene from the Olympic opening ceremony where drag queens paid homage to The Last Supper sparked controversy and a backlash from Christians on social media
One of them was Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, who is no stranger to controversy.

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will from the flesh also reap corruption; but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap everlasting life,” Butker’s tweet read.
The performance angered many Christians, who believed their religion was being mocked.
The phrases “disgusting” and “Sodom and Gomorrah” trended on Twitter the morning after the ceremony, and the performance remained a topic of discussion.
Butker was at the center of controversy earlier this summer after a commencement speech at Benedictine College in Kansas that some called sexist.
Butker congratulated the women who received their degrees and said most of them were probably more enthusiastic about getting married and having children. She also said some Catholic leaders were “imposing dangerous gender ideologies on America’s youth.”
In May, Butker gave a controversial commencement speech at a Kansas university.
Butker, whose mother is an accomplished physicist, also criticized Pride Month and President Joe Biden’s stance on abortion.
The controversial speech sparked a fierce backlash, and a petition was created a day after his speech to have the Chiefs kicker removed from the team’s roster ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
Butker remains on the Chiefs roster and made a trip to the White House to celebrate his team’s Super Bowl victory.
