An employee was left stunned after his boss told him he had been assigned all night shifts because he “complains the least” on the team.
British racing expert Ben Askins read an anonymous communication detailing text messages exchanged between the man and his manager.
The employee texted the manager asking about the list and why he had been put on the night shift all week.
“Hey, just a quick question. It seemed like I’ve been put on the late shift every night this week?” the worker asked.
The manager responded, “Yeah, I’m sorry, I know no one wants to do that shift and I knew you’d be the one who would complain the least if I gave it to you.”

Surprised, the employee said, ‘That doesn’t make sense? Can’t we just split the last few shifts between the three of us like always?
But the boss replied: ‘The last time I put Jamie on the graveyard shift he complained a lot. Honestly, I can’t be bothered to deal with it.
—So they punish me because I don’t complain as much? the employee asked.
The manager said: ‘That’s a compliment mate! You require a lot less maintenance, which is good.
“This is honestly nonsense. Do you realize that you’re basically encouraging me to be more useless? the employee responded.
But the manager said, “That’s a very disappointing way to take what I just said.”
And the employee responded, ‘You should look at it from my point of view. If you make me do this, I’ll stop.
Finally the boss said, ‘Okay, I’ll change it.’
The employee threatened to quit if he was forced to work the entire night shift for a week
Ben was stunned by the admission and branded the boss “pathetic” for the way he handled the situation.
‘What do you think your job is if not to deal with it as a manager?’ Ben said.
‘What a waste of time. What is he really playing at?
Since then, the video has been viewed more than 399,000 times.
“Good employees ALWAYS get punished,” one wrote.
“I had become the worst complainer they had ever seen,” said another.
“It’s time to start complaining incessantly,” wrote a third.
Someone else said: “I’d still start looking for another position.”
But another noted that “at least the boss is honest.”
