Talking about things to avoid if observing the eastern festival, Dr. Candise said: “Do not drink beer or take medicine on the first day of the lunar year, otherwise it is believed that you will be sick throughout the year.”

Another interesting point the TikTok creator made was to avoid sweeping the floor, stating that you will “sweep your wealth” if you do.

Candise also instructed those observing the holiday to refrain from “taking out the trash” because it symbolizes throwing away good luck from the house.

Dr Candise told her 1.4 million followers to avoid using words she considered unfortunate, such as “death, poverty and ghosts”.
