Denise Herrmann-Wick ends biathlon career
About half a year later, Denise Herrmann-Wick announced her retirement from biathlon. In the course of her successful career, the 34-year-old was able to win a gold medal at the Olympic Winter Games and two world championship titles.
“What a phenomenal journey! I think 11-year-old Denise would be very proud of you! Words cannot describe how much you inspired and motivated me. I’m full of pride,” Thomas Wick chose before his wife’s last race in March emotional words on Facebook.
“With you, no hurdle is too high! Thank you for your boundless love and help at all levels!” Denise Herrmann-Wick then commented on Instagram.
Biathlon resignation also because of family planning
The former biathlon star also thought about family planning when he retired.
“Some athletes give birth to children during their career and then come back. I imagine that to be very difficult because I always want to give 110 percent in the things I do,” said Denise Herrmann-Wick in an interview “web.de News”.
