Ray Hadley has just returned 2GB radio after celebrating his honeymoon with wife Sophie Baird last week on Hayman Island in the Whitsundays.

And on Monday’s show, Ray recalled coming to the rescue of Hamish Blake’s children, Sonny, six, and Rudy, three, who were also vacationing in the idyllic spot.

The radio legend, 66, jokingly revealed how he ‘saved’ Hamish’s son and daughter, shared with beauty guru wife Zoë Foster Blake, from a broken golf cart.

While interviewing Hamish, 39, for the new season of Lego Masters, Ray told listeners, ‘Something happened, it changed my life last week. I was walking down a hill from the top of a mountain … I heard a shrill cry from a golf cart. ‘

Ray remembered Hamish and Zoë’s nanny Charlotte asking for help with their broken golf cart, with “two kids” in the back.

“I said,” Look, I know a little bit about golf carts, jump up “. I lifted the seat, I set the kill switch, I turned the ignition key on and off, I went from forward to back, I put the two small children back in the cart. I said, “Jump on kids!” ‘He remembered.
