A young woman has died on Hamilton Island after her golf cart overturned during a U-turn.
The 29-year-old was a passenger in the buggy as it headed south on Whitsunday Boulevard about 4:30 p.m. Monday.
The buggy is said to have made the U-turn at an intersection near Coral Sea Avenue on Whitsunday Island in Queensland.

The woman, who was from NSW, died at the scene while the male driver of the buggy was not physically injured.
Golf buggies are the main mode of transport on the holiday island and can be rented without training for a small fee.
Police said the investigation is continuing with forensic crash officers on the scene.
Hamilton Island is a popular tourist destination and is located about 55 km off the coast of Queensland, near the Great Barrier Reef.
