The “Without Me” hitmaker, 28, admitted she lied to the filmmaker, 47, about having his driver’s license before taking on the role, then managed to get it just two weeks before doing a stunt driving in the set.
The singer, who recently wowed during Paris Fashion Week, took to her Instagram Stories with two photos of her on set, including a snap of her inside a red car.
‘I didn’t drive for 5 years. Told @tonytost I could drive (I lied) got my license then 2 weeks later showed up to set and did stunts on day 1 lmao,” she wrote.
Another behind-the-scenes snap saw her posing between the trailers in a graphic white T-shirt, black jeans, and black boots.

Halsey plays Mandy Starr in Americana, written and directed by Tost.
The film also stars Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane, Paul Walter Hauser, Zahn McClarnon, and Simon Rex, among others.
The plot of the film revolves around a small town in South Dakota.

The crime thriller had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 17.
Halsey has previously spoken about her driver’s license. In 2020, he took to Twitter to explain that she knew how to drive, but decided not to anymore.
