Halo-themed Xbox Series X and PS5 are now available through Walmart (update: being rescheduled)

Update 12:25 PM ET, Sept. 23: Walmart’s console addition didn’t get off to a good start. Most people didn’t load the pages, it seems, and the retailer updated its site with a header that reads “Console event needs to be rescheduled.” We will update this post again as soon as we know when the event will take place.

Walmart is hosting a major console restock event today, Sept. 23, at 12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PT. It will have the PS5 consoles along with the standard Xbox Series X and the limited edition Halo Infinite-themed Series X.

In case you’re there Halotheme console, try your luck in getting one from this link. In terms of specs, it’s no different from the standard model, but it has a more attractive design, both on the console and on the included wireless controller. Two things to note: it costs $549.99 and costs $50 more than the regular Series X. Another thing is you won’t receive this until the game launches on November 15th.


Halo Infinite Limited Edition Xbox Series X

Microsoft’s upcoming, limited edition Series X commemorates the 20th anniversary of Halo. The technical specifications of the console are the same as the standard Series X, but the external construction is based on design elements from the Halo universe.

Or you can try to get the $499.99 Xbox Series X console, with a Blu-ray disc drive, about 800 GB of usable (but expandable) storage, and a wireless controller.


Microsoft Xbox Series X

The Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s flagship console and serves as its most powerful (and largest) option. While the Series S focuses on smooth 1440p performance and takes a disc-less approach, the $500 Series X focuses on fast-paced 4K gameplay.

For folks eager to get a PlayStation 5, Walmart has both editions of the console available today. You can get the $499.99 version with a built-in Blu-ray disc drive and a DualSense controller. It will also sell the digital version missing a disk drive for $399.99. Both consoles have about 660 GB of usable storage, but they are expandable via their NVMe M.2 slot. If you only want to play PS4 games, you can use a cheaper external USB hard drive.


Playstation 5

With Sony’s flagship next-gen console, which includes a disc drive, you can play both digital and physical games for the PS4 and PS5.


PlayStation 5 Digital Edition

The PS5 Digital Edition costs $400. Compared to the PS5, this console is $100 less and does not include a Blu-ray disc drive.
