Fans were left divided by Halley Kate's black and white outfit

An influencer showed off the outfit she picked out for dinner in New York City this weekend, and it was pretty polarizing.

Halley Kate, who posts lifestyle and fashion content on social media, was in front of the camera in her latest version TikTok video wearing a black and white dress.

Kate, who has 1.4 million followers on TikTok, complemented the ensemble with a furry, waist-high jacket, a poofy white scarf and a Chanel bag.

“This coat is simply not warm enough for the 80-degree weather in New York City,” she said. ‘But it’s for the atmosphere, like I said: a hoe never gets cold. We all know that now.’

Kate also apologized for her hair, saying she looked like Cindy Lou Who from The Grinch with her last-minute sky-high bun.

But the influencer’s outfit wasn’t appreciated by everyone – with some calling her out for the mismatched, over-the-top ‘polyester’ outfit.

‘What the hell. She looks like she killed some muppets because of their fur,” one person wrote, while another called her a “polyester princess.”

Another wrote that Kate was “starting to look like Cruella DeVille from the original 101 Dalmatians.”

Other commentators compared her to Pepe Le Pew, the cartoon skunk from Looney Tunes.

At least two people thought she looked like Jennifer Coolidge, who is known for her roles in the 2001 cult classic “Legally Blonde” and the 2021 TV series “The White Lotus.”

Kate said the dress came from Show Me Your Mumu, a women’s clothing site that sells everything from dresses to sweaters to wedding clothes.

This apparently didn’t sit well with certain commenters, some of whom thought her outfit looked “cheap” or “tacky.”

“I get so angry when I see rich people wearing cheap clothes, like you can buy anything you want and this is what you choose?” wrote one person.

Others joked that her choice of clothing was flammable, and one said she should stay away from candles.

Some fans on Kate’s TikTok loved her outfit and gave her glowing reviews for the ensemble, which she wore on a night out in the Big Apple.

Many even thought her so-called Cindy Lou Who-do quite suited her, with one person asking for a hair tutorial.

“I love the hair,” one person wrote. “As always,” another fan hyped her.

Kate made headlines in May when she announced she had bought a luxurious home in The Hamptons.

Although Kate had been working on The Hamptons home deal since February, she revealed in another video that she would be keeping her New York apartment, which reportedly costs $7,000 a month.

Kate’s real estate purchase came just two months after she was punched in the face while walking along West 16th and 7th Avenue in Manhattan.

“Y’all, I was literally walking and a guy came up to me and punched me in the face,” Kate said in her video about the random attack. ‘Oh my God, it hurts so much. I can’t even talk. I literally fell to the ground and now this giant goose egg is forming.”
