Halle Berry has said she won’t help her children get a chance in Hollywood, as she wants them to succeed independently like she did.

She shares her daughter Nahla, 16, with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey and her son Maceo, 10, with her third ex-husband Olivier Martinez.

Now the 57-year-old film star has revealed how he would respond if his children told him they wanted to pursue careers in showbiz.

“I told them: ‘Do what I did.’ There was no nepotism. Nobody helped me. I had to learn from scratch,” he explained.

“They would have to do the same thing. They would have to pay their dues, learn a trade, work hard and make it on their own,” Halle said. People.

He added that if his children manage to build their careers in that way, “it’s theirs forever. Nobody can take it away from them. That’s what they’ll have to do.”

Halle was raised in Cleveland by her single mother, a psychiatric nurse, and moved to New York to become an actress when she was 23.

During her tough years before she got her break on the Who’s Boss? spin-off Living Dolls, she was at one point so strapped for cash that she lived in a homeless shelter.

Halle is currently promoting her new Netflix film, The Union, a thrilling action comedy starring her alongside Mark Wahlberg.

“Well, I got points when I introduced my daughter to Mark, because she loves Daddy’s Home. It’s one of her favorite movies,” Halle shared.

“So when I introduced him to Mark, I think it was the first time in my entire career that he was like, ‘Have you met Mark Wahlberg? That’s cool, you’re great.'”

Meanwhile, Halle recently accused Olivier of trying to put off their co-parenting therapy so he could have the “summer off.”

Olivier and Halle married in 2013 while she was pregnant with Maceo and separated in 2016, finalizing the divorce in August 2023.

In May of this year, they agreed to go to therapy to “resolve disputes and conflicts between them in an effort to successfully co-parent.”

However, Halle claims Olivier skipped the July sessions to travel to his native France and is now hoping to cancel the August meetings because his brother is visiting.

She claimed that he wants to resume therapy only in September, but did not authorize the change with either Halle or the therapist, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

Halle wants a judge to force Olivier to stick to the original schedule they agreed to, arguing that the trip is irrelevant because the therapy is being done via Zoom.
