Halle Berry reveals she fell madly in love with boyfriend Van Hunt before having sex: “It was magical”

Halle Berry revealed during an interview on Tuesday that she had fallen in love with her boyfriend Van Hunt before they had sex for the first time.

The 58-year-old Catwoman star, who recently claimed to have spent $200,000 trying to “work with” her ex, has opened up Maria Clara on having “never” been intentional with her relationships and feeling “relaxed” before dating the musician.

“It was the first time I was madly in love before having sex,” she said candidly about their relationship. “That had never happened to me, ever.”

And for her, it was unlike anything she had ever experienced before.

The Never Let Yourself Go actress continued: “Tell us about one of those beautiful experiences that changed your life. It was magical, simply magical.”

Halle told the outlet that she “created[her]career. I did it intentionally, but I’ve never been that intentional with my relationships. I was very relaxed about that.”

She added: “You have to be clear with the universe or anything will find you. The moment I started to feel like I understood myself and what I had been doing wrong, Van’s brother, who I had known for many years, came to me and said, ‘You should meet my brother.'”

As her relationship with the GRAMMY winner, 54, blossomed, she admitted that “it took me a minute to get it right,” but “the nature of the way it happened, it made me really believe that this is it. This is my person.”

She and the musician met in 2020 and bonded through virtual calls, making their relationship public in September of the same year.

Halle then opened up about how her outlook on life has changed as she’s gotten older and how she’s closing the door on people-pleasing.

“Now I’m usually one of the oldest people in every room I walk into and that’s a good feeling… I don’t have to be the dancing bear. I don’t have to worry about appeasing everyone in the room, or worrying about other people’s egos, or worrying about their insecurities, or giving them what they expect from me if it’s not what I want to give them,” she said.

The mother of two admitted that her daughter tells people: “Don’t ask mom, because she doesn’t care. Don’t ask her unless you really want the answer.”

And she also spoke candidly about her 58th birthday in August, explaining that some use age to belittle women.

“Age is just a number that is imposed on us at birth,” she explained. “As women, it defines us much more than it does men, and it can sometimes weaken us.”

Now he feels that he has reached this point feeling better and stronger than when he was 20. I feel like I’m at the top now.

Later in the interview, Halle spoke about her advocacy for women’s rights and menopause care.

“We were expected to just get these babies out and then who cares what happens to us. Everyone has to get through it the best they can. The fighter in me said, ‘No, no, we deserve better! We’re half of this population,'” she said.

The actress added about motherhood: “Those children are here because we brought them here. They can’t forget us now during the second half of our journey. We were valuable then and we are valuable now.”
