Boris and Lilian have been together for several years after they moved together to Milan following his release from prison in 2022, where he served eight months of his two-and-a-half-year sentence for insolvency offences.
In February German newspaper image reported that the retired tennis player who hides money will marry for the third time, as they revealed that the couple was engaged and the wedding was expected to take place within a year.

The former athlete reportedly proposed to Monteiro at Milan Cathedral in 2021, but any hopes of a fairytale wedding were dashed by the impending prison sentence.

Boris was charged with insolvency offenses in 2022 after declaring bankruptcy and hiding assets worth £2.5m.
He concealed the money by failing to declare his stake in a huge German property worth £1m, as well as £700,000 in cash from a loan, among other assets.
