HAIR and Chris Stapleton looked set to put on a show-stopping performance at the upcoming 2021 CMT Music Awards, as they joined forces for rehearsals the day before.

Their upcoming performance will be the first time HER has performed at a country music awards ceremony.

Both performers opted for casual outfits for their rehearsal, although they might go a little flashier for the main show.

The singer-songwriter born Gabriella Wilson had diagonal white fringes running down her torso on a white top.

She added a touch of grunge rock style with heavily ripped acid wash jeans that hung loosely around her.

The style icon had her raven black locks pulled back into a long ponytail that reached all the way to her knees, and signature oversized black glasses.

Chris paid tribute to his super fan Kendall Jenner by wearing a black and white trucker for her controversial tequila label 818.

He rocked double denim with a navy jacket over a black graphic tee and matching jeans.

The heavily bearded singer contrasted guitars with his duet partner. He appeared to be picking on a black Gibson semi-hollowbody guitar, while HER was shredding on an ice-blue Fender Stratocaster.

The two musicians don’t appear to have released a duet before, so viewers will have to wait until Wednesday night to find out what they’ll be singing.

Earlier in the day, HER shared a black and white photo of the two rehearsing together.

“One of the kindest and most INCREDIBLE voices on the planet @chrisstapleton!” she gushed before urging her fans to tune in.

Chris shared a variation of the photo on his own Instagram account and had nothing but glowing praise for his duet partner.

‘HER is without a doubt one of the greatest singer/songwriter/guitarists on the planet. Fact,” he captioned the photo.

Even Chris’ wife Morgane Stapleton couldn’t wait for the two to share the stage.

“Died and went to heaven listening to these real angels from real life,” she said.

The 2021 CMT Music Awards will be held at his old Nashville home, with Kane Brown returning as a co-host after helping lead the ceremony last year.

This time he is joined by singer Kelsea Ballerini, who is making her debut as host of the country music show.

“Kelsea and Kane are two of the brightest, most sought-after stars in country music today and we are delighted to welcome them both as hosts of the 2021 CMT Music Awards,” the producers of the CMT Music Awards shared in a statement in May. . “This dynamic duo reflects the revitalized energy of the show as live music returns to center stage on a night of incredible outdoor performances, cross-genre collaborations and a few surprises!”

In a statement released after he was announced as one of the hosts, Brown recalled the “amazing feeling” he felt after winning his first country music award at the CMTs.

“The CMT Music Awards are special to me – it’s the first award I’ve won in the industry and it was a great feeling to be on that stage,” he said. “I love that the fans can make their voices heard as we celebrate the best in country music.”
