A man has died and another person has been seriously injured following a house fire in Adelaide’s south.
Firefighters were called to the Housing Trust home on Amsterdam Road in Hackham West just before 8.30am on Saturday.
They discovered flames and smoke coming from the front room of the property.
The Metropolitan Fire Service confirmed that firefighters pulled one person from the burning property, but that person later died at the scene, the Metropolitan Fire Service reported. ABC.
A second person was seriously injured in the fire and taken to Flinders Medical Centre.
The occupants’ pets, two cats and two dogs, did not escape the fire.

It took firefighters about 15 minutes to extinguish the fire.
Neighbor Pamela Jenkins, 70, told Advertiser He saw the smoke from the back window.
“There was a cloud of smoke coming from the house and when I saw it I ran out into the street to see if I could help,” Mrs Jenkins said.
“But when I got to the house, the street was already closed and the police, ambulances and fire trucks had already invaded the place.
“The first time I saw the woman… she was being taken away by ambulances and she called me and told me that her partner was still in the house.”
“Fire investigators are on scene to determine the cause and damage,” an MFS spokesperson said.
The road has been closed near the scene and police are asking pedestrians and drivers to avoid the area.
