In May 2023, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were reported to have enjoyed a meal at a Michelin-starred sushi restaurant in Montecito with Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, television producer Brad Fulchuk.

The royal couple were also joined by Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden, who is the lead guitarist of the band Good Charlotte.

Meghan Markle’s evening with Gwyneth Paltrow came just weeks after the duchess’ trademark application for The Tig was approved, meaning she could get her lifestyle blog back. It was also the first time Prince Harry was seen after spending just 28 hours in the UK for King Charles’ coronation.

In the wake of this, speculation was rife that Meghan’s site could rival Gwyneth’s multimillion-dollar company, Goop.

Meghan first launched the website, which she called her “passion project”, in 2014, and for three years used it as her personal blog, where she talked about everything from food and travel to fashion and politics.

What’s more, Gwyneth was one of the first celebrities to send her well wishes to the Princess of Wales in March after the royal revealed she is receiving treatment for cancer in an emotional video message.

Describing the princess as a “pillar of grace and strength,” Gwyneth commented on the Instagram post: “Sending love.”
