Married At First Sight’s Timothy Smith was grilled by Lucinda Light’s father Michael for being “too angry” on Monday after their dramatic commitment ceremony.

Tim, 51, and Lucinda, 43, have had a tough few days after the groom felt “blindsided” by his partner when she mentioned she didn’t feel “desired” at their commitment ceremony on Sunday.

Things were very tense between the couple as they headed to see their loved ones, with Tim insisting he planned to be “brutally honest” about their difficulties as they clashed on the way to the reunion.

The couple spoke to Lucinda’s parents, Michael and Susan, and Tim’s friends, Rachelle and Brett, about their fight at the commitment ceremony, where they woke up in separate apartments that morning.

Lucinda’s father, Michael, was unimpressed after hearing Tim talk about how angry he was about the situation and took him into a private chat where he questioned the boyfriend.

Tim (pictured), 51, and Lucinda, 43, have had a tough few days after the groom felt “blindsided” by his partner when she mentioned she didn’t feel “desired” at the engagement ceremony Sunday.

He accused Tim of being “too angry” and living in the past as he urged him to leave the argument, before awkwardly advising him to have a “one-night stand” with Lucinda.

When Lucinda burst into tears when Tim angrily said he was “more out than in” their relationship, Michael responded, “Sometimes I feel like you get too angry.”

Pulling him aside for a one-on-one chat, Michael accused Tim of having “no respect” for Lucinda and said it was a “cop” to say she just gets “angry” easily.

“I think one of the most important things is respect for the other person, and I don’t think there’s a lot of respect for Lucy,” he said.

Tim insisted that he respects her, but she just gets angry, prompting Michael to say, “That’s a cop-out, I’m sorry.” Do you think it’s time to not get angry so easily?

While Lucinda broke down in tears when an angry Tim said he was “more out than in” their relationship, Michael accused Tim of being “too angry” and living in the past.

Tim responded, “It’s hard, it’s hard for me” when Michael asked him if it was time to try changing his habits.

Michael fumed: ‘Wow, you’re a brick, aren’t you? You are a wall, you can’t get out of that wall, right?

‘It’s boring! I’m getting angry hearing that. From my point of view, sometimes you don’t need to tangle your tits and stick your finger out.’

Despite his harsh words, Tim saw the funny side and laughed at tough love, telling the camera, “He made me laugh and when I laugh, I break down my walls.”

‘She’s trying so hard and I don’t know if you are or not. “There is a time frame on this program and you can’t keep delaying,” Michael said.

“You have a lovely lady who is attracted to you and maybe you need to try a little harder.”

Regarding Michael’s opinions, Tim admitted on camera: “Yeah, he thinks I’m not up to par and it’s really hard to listen to.” I know I’m not easy, I’m sorry. [Lucinda] I could have gotten someone easier.

“It takes a special kind of person to want me with me, so I know how special it is,” he added.

Michael asked Tim: “No one is perfect, we all have our flaws, but will you try it with Lucinda?”

Tim insisted he was going to have a “good chat” with Lucinda that day after tension between the pair reached a boiling point in recent episodes.

About his “eating slowly” attitude, Michael awkwardly urged Tim to try to be more intimate with his daughter Lucinda, even suggesting a “one-night stand.”

About his “slow burn” attitude, Michael awkwardly urged Tim to try to be more intimate with his daughter Lucinda, even suggesting a “one-night stand.”

‘It’s not my place to tell you what to do, but we’d love to see some more action from you. It could be a one night stand or anything, just try it,” she said.

Clarifying his comment, the producers asked him: ‘Did you say you had a one-night stand with my daughter?’

To which Michael doubled over and said, ‘Well, I should do it! Great advice for a parent to a potential whatever.’

Laughing, Tim said: ‘Where are you going with that? Where are you going?’

However, Michael’s tough love got to Tim when he insisted that he realized he had made a mistake and apologized to Lucinda as they looked to take steps forward.

‘The chat with Michael has made me realize that I have been a bit foolish. “Lucinda deserves more, I need to let go of the anger and move on,” she stated.

Michael's tough, loving attitude seemed to have worked on Tim as he returned to the table and apologized, admitting on camera that he had been a 'jerk'.

The scenes came after Tim became furious when Lucinda mentioned she didn’t feel “desired” by Tim during Sunday’s commitment ceremony.

Despite thinking they had a good few days, Lucinda agreed with the experts when they described the bond as a ‘close friendship’ while talking about the obstacle of their intimacy.

Tim kept telling Lucinda not to talk to him because he felt “blindsided” by her comments and insisted that they should have been a team, as he was also angry that everyone in the room had taken his girlfriend’s side.
