GWS defender Sam Taylor was taken to hospital and play was stopped in the Giants AFL clash against St Kilda for several minutes after a fiery collision left him motionless on the Manuka Oval deck.
In a sickening moment, Taylor was left second in a heavy collision with St Kilda midfielder Jack Steele.
Taylor was in poor condition on the ground before being treated by doctors and play was stopped for some time.
The star defender was eventually stretchered off the field and taken to hospital for further monitoring.

There was a stunned silence at Manuka Oval as Taylor was stabilized before being transported to Canberra Hospital.
‘Oh no, Sam Taylor is in a world of hurt. You never like to see this on the football field,” Kelli Underwood said on Fox Footy’s coverage.
“It’s not right, without stating the obvious,” added Fox Footy commentator Mark Howard.
“He hasn’t moved because the medical staff are still surrounding him.” Our thoughts are with Sam and his family.”
Andy Maher added on AFL Nation: ‘This is bad… the whole thing was hard to watch. “The players knew it immediately.”
The Giants have confirmed that the star defender is conscious and talking in hospital after the sickening incident.
The Saints had their own injury problems, losing key forward Max King to a knee injury late in the contest.
The Giants later said Taylor was conscious in a promising update.
Giants head of football Jason McCartney provided an update on Taylor during the first break.
‘He has gone to Canberra Hospital for further assessment. But she was conscious and talking when she got into the ambulance,” McCartney told Fox Footy.
“He obviously didn’t look very well, but he’s a brave boy. “He’s in the best of hands now and he’ll be fine.
The Saints suffered an injury of their own in the third quarter and key forward Max King appeared to injure his left knee.
He limped off the field at the end of the quarter, assisted by coaches, and did not return for the huddle or the fourth quarter.
