Several GWS Giants players are reportedly facing suspensions after the AFL launched an investigation into alleged “inappropriate behaviour” at a post-season function.
On Tuesday, the Giants confirmed they had launched an internal investigation into the incident.
It came after an anonymous complaint was made about the costumes worn at the fancy dress event, which had a “celebrity couples theme”.

The club’s internal investigation has reportedly cleared the players of any illegal activity.
Cleary adds that several players are facing suspensions over the incident, but the AFL has given them the opportunity to respond.
“Tonight, a number of Giants players are facing bans from the AFL in relation to inappropriate behaviour,” Cleary said during a news bulletin on Seven News.

‘It was an event only for players, there were no victims from the public. Several players have been suspended and the AFL has given them the opportunity to respond as part of negotiations. Other players will be affected by financial sanctions.
‘Some of those players are abroad tonight and they only found out about this in the last few hours.
“It is understood the club’s own internal investigation has cleared the players of any illegal activity, but tonight this is in the hands of the AFL.” The Giants are preparing to be without several players to start the 2025 season.
In a statement issued to Seven News, the Giants said: “The Giants are aware of an anonymous allegation of inappropriate behavior at the players’ end-of-season event last month.”
In a statement, the Giants added that the club’s integrity unit had been working with the AFL on the claims.
‘The club and its integrity unit have been working with the AFL integrity unit to investigate.
“The club will not comment further until the results of the investigation have been finalised.”
