Guy Sebastian reveals what it’s really like working with Rita Ora on The Voice – as he looks back on the making of the show last year at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic

Guy Sebastian is in the process of filming season 10 of The Voice Australia.

And speaking at Hamilton’s Sydney premiere on Saturday, the singer-songwriter revealed what it’s really like working with Rita Ora, Keith Urban and Jessica Mauboy.

“It’s fantastic, it’s just such a great atmosphere,” the 39-year-old told Daily Mail Australia when asked about his fellow coaches.

‘We just love each other. We’ve had a few commercials that we’ve made and I think that was the closest moment [we’ve had],’ he said.

The inaugural Australian Idol winner explained that because they are so busy listening to talent during the blind auditions, they “don’t get that much time to bond and chat.”

While on this one [commercial] shoots, we sang together, all in tune and hanging, ‘he said.

“Everyone just loves each other and it’s just a lot of fun to be able to film,” he added.

The Voice airs on Channel Seven this year, but Guy had nothing but praise for the show’s former network for how it handled at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic last season.

He said, ‘I thought Channel Nine did such a good job of even getting one show on the air, but there was no live show for the public.

“We had those challenges and I think they did a great job, but it was tough.”

The Voice Australia moved to Seven after The Nine Network failed to renew its contract after nine seasons.

With Seven at the helm of the reality singing competition, Guy said it was “ great to be in front of a live audience again. ”

‘It’s the first live studio audience to have taken place in the country and it was The Voice, and it just felt great,’ he added.
