Guenther Steiner hopes Red Bull will “end” the feud that has engulfed Christian Horner, with the team principal’s “sex texts” scandal overshadowing the start of the Formula 1 season.

Red Bull team boss Horner was accused of “coercive behavior” by an unnamed female employee before being cleared by a lawyer hired by the motorsport team to investigate.

However, the woman has since appealed the outcome after being suspended by the team for testifying “dishonestly”.

The Formula 1 circus arrives in Melbourne this weekend for the third race of the season, but Horner’s off-track drama remains the talk of the town, and former Haas boss Steiner hopes the saga ends Soon.

Reflecting on the mood within Red Bull, he told ABC Sport: “In the upper echelons of the company there will be… people rethinking what they want to do,” he said. he declares.

Steiner has started working as a television commentator since being stood down by Haas in the off-season and will be in the paddock for the Albert Park race this weekend.

He takes his time away from the sport to think about his next move.

“I don’t know if I want to come back as team leader,” he admitted.

“Maybe creating a new team, for the new era of Formula 1… that could be an opportunity.”
