Guardiola meets with Walker for alleged exhibitionism

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said on Friday that he has spoken with kyle walker since the defender faces a police investigation for allegedly exposing himself in public.

Cheshire Police announced in a statement on Wednesday that they are investigating the incident, which allegedly occurred at a Wilmslow bar on Sunday.

Walker reported to training as normal on Tuesday after Pep Guardiola gave him two days off following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Newcastle. City are next in action against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

“It’s a private issue,” Guardiola said at a news conference.

“We resolve it internally and talk to him. This is not the place to talk about private situations.”

The incident involving Walker, 32, was reported after a video circulated on social media.

When asked what advice he would give to younger players, Guardiola replied: “They already know, when you open the door of the house, you should know that they will film you whatever you do, it is part of society.”

The German outfit have the option of making the move permanent, but there have been reports that the 28-year-old will return to the Etihad at the end of the season.

“Joao is playing for Bayern Munich, I don’t have any comment,” Guardiola said.

“It’s Bayern and at the end of the season there will be a review at the end of the season.”
