A bus passenger discovered a plastic box with human ashes inside, and relatives have not yet claimed the remains of the deceased person.
The passenger found the substance inside the small white container in Rockingham, about 50 kilometers southwest of Perth, on February 24.
Police went to X on Tuesday to ask the deceased’s family to come forward and claim the remains.

The passenger who found the small white container (file image) took the box to the police station, where it has not yet been claimed by the deceased’s relatives.
“This container of ashes was abandoned on a bus in Rockingham,” police said.
The dates 4/24/77 and 4/29/23 were written on the lid of the rectangular container.
The name ‘Ranga’ was also written in pink and various shapes, including a love heart, had been hastily scribbled above the name.
The deceased would have been 46 years old when he died.
