Groom accidentally loses his bride-to-be’s $2,000 wedding dress on top of his car before driving off… and now they can’t find it

A groom-to-be is in trouble after accidentally losing his bride’s $2,000 wedding dress after putting it on top of his car and driving off.

Tom Mitton and his fiancee Lindel Cain were collecting items from a storage unit in Adelaide on Sunday morning when he placed the package containing his wife’s Belgian-made dress on the roof of the car so it wouldn’t be crushed by its heavy boxes. .

But, most importantly, she forgot to put the dress back in the car before leaving.

“We were arriving at Burnside Village (shopping centre) when the check hit and we quickly turned around and tried to retrace our steps,” Miss Cain said.

“We parked the car and walked along the road as the trucks passed by at 90 km/h, trying to find the box somewhere on the side of the road.”

Despite retracing their steps, the couple has been unable to find the dress.

Mitton said he was “angry” at himself for his mistake.

Her fiancée has done her best to stay calm and plans to buy a new dress if she can’t find it.

“For a man who is not very emotional, yesterday there were a lot of emotions, a lot of tears on his part because he could see how angry she was,” he said.

She said there was “a lot of laughing and they tried to make light of the situation,” but she was understandably upset.

The couple is offering a $500 reward to anyone who finds the package that bears their name.

Fortunately, the wedding won’t be until 2025.

“He’s going to make a very good speech at the wedding,” Miss Cain joked.
