Grim recordings reveal sleazy comments Las Vegas middle school assistant principal made to female student aged 13: ‘You got me excited. Damn, you dangerous’

A Las Vegas assistant principal was caught on tape making sleazy comments to a 13-year-old student.

Howard Hughes, 61, was caught making inappropriate comments to an eighth-grade student at Del Webb Middle School.

Somber audio obtained by 8 News Now reveals how he told the girl she was “dangerous” and it “excited” him.

‘I can’t believe I was so close to you. Some things are happening inside me,” Hughes is heard saying in the recording.

‘I think about you all the time, it seems like 24/7. You don’t look like a student. It seems like I’ve known you forever. Looks like you’re an adult,’ she added.

‘You look like an adult. Very mature for your age.

In another segment he talks about wanting to hug and kiss the young man.

‘If there weren’t people out there right now, I would hug you so tight. Maybe I even want to kiss you,” she says.

The recordings prompted an investigation by Clark County School District police, and Hughes resigned from his position before fleeing to Texas.

U.S. marshals arrested him out of fear he was trying to escape to Mexico.

Hughes is currently being held in the Ellis County, Texas, jail on $100,000 bail and will eventually be extradited to Nevada.

One student told investigators she was first invited to Hughes’ office in October to discuss personal and mental health issues.

But it wasn’t long before the sleazy comments began.

‘Passionate, of course about sex. No (expletive). There is a difference. When you make love to someone it is because you truly love them.

“Everything else is just sex, or just (expletive),” Hughes is heard saying at one point in the recording.

Hughes has been charged with three counts of online sexual solicitation of a minor and three counts of indecency with a child.

In Henderson, Nevada, the charges are three counts of contact with a minor by a person with authority to engage in sexual intercourse.

Hughes was hired by the school district in 2022, however, he has since been removed from Del Webb’s website.
