Grey’s Anatomy alums Justin Chambers and Chyler Leigh delighted fans by reuniting ahead of the season 21 premiere.
The two actors shared the same selfie on their Instagram accounts on Friday. In the photo, Justin has his arm around Chyler.
Both are wearing glasses and dressed very casually: Chambers is wearing a green hoodie and Leigh a black T-shirt.
“Being with LEXIE is HEAVENLY @chy_leigh,” Chambers captioned the photo, responding: “Hi, that’s us! .”
Chyler captioned her photo: ‘KAREV… always lovely @officialjustinchambers’.
Justin Chambers and Chyler Leigh, who played Alex Karev and Lexie Grey on Grey’s Anatomy, reunited ahead of the season 21 premiere.
The former co-stars appeared to be standing outside a restaurant that was not yet open as chairs could be seen stacked through the windows.
Chambers was one of the original cast members of the long-running medical drama.
He played Dr. Alex Karev for 16 seasons, from 2005 to 2020, when his character left Seattle to reunite with Katherine Heigl’s Izzie.
Chyler entered Seattle Grace Hospital, as it was called at the time, in season three as Dr. Lexie Grey, the younger half-sister of Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).
She was on the show for five seasons until she was killed off in season eight, leading to the hospital changing its name to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
Fans were delighted to see two fan favorites together again.
“When Alex Karev and Lexie Grey get together in a photo, it’s like going back to when our TV hearts weren’t shattered into a million pieces!” wrote one fan.
“WAIT! LEXI AND ALEX ARE COMING BACK? I wish I could watch Grey’s again!” someone else exclaimed.
“I’M CRYING I miss you guys!” one person wrote, while another added: “Girl this means the world to me.”

Chambers left Grey’s Anatomy to spend more time with his wife and four children.
He also portrayed Marlon Brando in the Paramount+ limited series The Offer.
Leigh has been keeping very busy since her character was killed off.
She has appeared regularly on series such as Super Girl, The Flash and The Way Home.
