Bronwyn Will (pictured) claimed Greg Lynn's ex-wife went through a tumultuous time during her marriage to Lynn.

Chilling new claims have emerged that Greg Lynn attacked and terrorized his first wife, cheated on her and took her belongings from her home before she was found dead.

Lisa Lynn was found dead in October 1999, at the age of 34, after consuming a lethal cocktail of alcohol and sleeping pills.

This was information that was not in the possession of the Victorian Supreme Court jury, which on Tuesday acquitted Lynn of murdering Russell Hill but found him guilty of murdering Carol Clay.

The two secret lovers were pitching a tent near Lynn when they died in the Wonnanangatta Valley in Victoria’s Alpine region on March 20, 2020.

There is no suggestion that the explosive information about Lisa Lynn could have led to a guilty verdict in Hill’s case, had it been admitted to the jury, or that Lynn was responsible for his ex-wife’s death.

Bronwyn Will was a close friend of Lisa and lived across the road from the couple in Mount Macedon, in north-west Victoria.

He claimed the mother of two went through a tumultuous time during her marriage to Lynn.

“She described a moment where Greg (allegedly) slammed a door on her and hit her in the head and knocked her unconscious,” Will told 60 Minutes on Sunday night.

“There was another time where I think Lisa had had too much to drink or something and Greg (allegedly) pushed her outside, hosed her down and locked her outside overnight.”

Lynn also allegedly tied Ms. Lynn’s hands and feet and took her to the backyard, according to the neighbor.

He said the alleged behavior was unusual but necessary to teach Ms Lynn not to “drink excessively again.”

Will, a former lawyer, described the alleged behavior as a “thing to do” and described the alleged act as “abusive.”

“It’s a sign of violence and immaturity… I understand that he (allegedly) laughed about it with other people at the time,” he said.

Ms Will also claimed that Lynn was seeing other women, which ultimately led to the breakdown of his marriage to Lisa.

“I was dating another flight attendant,” he recalled.

‘I understand that he had been unfaithful to her on more than one occasion before.’

Lynn allegedly continued to harass his ex-wife even after he moved on with another couple.

He allegedly threatened Ms Lynn several times and broke into the family home to take several belongings, including the car.

‘Who (supposedly) does that to your wife?’ Mrs. Will said.

“Who has multiple affairs unless they consider their wife unimportant? Who makes their wife feel insecure?”

Will said Lynn “deserved to be happy” and “deserved a better life.”

“She was a good neighbor and a friend and she was someone I really liked,” he said.

Meanwhile, Russell Hill’s daughter Debbie Hill has revealed she is still trying to come to terms with the verdict that Lynn was found not guilty of murdering her father.

“I’m angry with the outcome. The more I think about it, the angrier I get at the fact that it didn’t have to be this way,” he said.

Hill believed the outcome of the trial failed to bring justice to his father.

“My father was not a violent person in any sense. He wouldn’t have caused anything,” he said.

“I’m really angry that he went camping that day, at that time, because he is the person he is and because he was there with my dad and Carol.”

Hill said he has lost faith in the justice system.

“I’m not confident about it right now. We’ll have to wait and see,” he said.

Daily Mail Australia revealed shocking allegations made against Lynn by the parents of his first wife and mother of his two children while he lived in Mount Macedon, northwest of Melbourne.

When Greg Lynn’s ex-wife’s parents found out she was dead, her mother immediately suspected it was her fault, court documents revealed.

It was information provided by the prosecution to Judge Michael Croucher after Lynn’s lawyer suggested he would call witnesses who would present evidence supporting his client’s “good character.”

“Prior to their separation, Lisa had told me that Greg had been making very serious death threats against her and that they continued until his death,” Lisa’s father told the coroner in a statement withheld at trial.

‘Greg had been verbally abusing Lisa since their marriage began. Lisa kept a diary since the day Greg left her marriage. The diary details the abusive phone calls, death threats and verbal abuse Greg had made to his children.

In a series of statements given to coroner Graeme Johnstone at the time, Lynn’s alleged torment of his ex-wife was revealed..

Lisa had He did not leave a suicide note and had not indicated to anyone that he might have suicidal intentions.

During the pre-trial hearing at the Supreme Court, it was revealed that Lynn was found not responsible for his ex-wife’s death and the coroner ruled it a suicide.

WHAT THE FORENSIC FOUND

Coroner Graeme Johnstone said Lisa Lynn is believed to have been deeply depressed at the time of her death.

However, the coroner was left with doubts as to whether he had intended to take his own life or not.

Forensic doctors later revealed that his blood alcohol content was 0.2, more than three times the legal limit for driving a car.

They also found traces of antidepressants in his system.

Lisa was found in the fetal position outside the family’s home in Macedonia, northwest of Melbourne, while the couple’s two children, aged one and three, slept inside.

The coroner’s court heard that Lynn accepted in unsigned statements that he had been violent towards his ex-wife, including breaking into the family home, stealing keys and taking the car.

In court documents provided to the coroner’s court, Lisa’s father, who was not named in court, claimed he had been aware of Lynn’s verbal abuse of his daughter since the marriage began.

“I am also aware… of the abuse and the fact that Greg broke into the house and took the car, leaving Lisa with two children and no means of transportation,” she told the coroner.

“He refused to give her car back and left her without money.”

Lisa’s father told the coroner that Lynn had harassed and bullied her after their marriage broke down.

‘I know from speaking to Lisa that she was unwilling to press charges against Greg for fear of repercussions.

“She took his threats very seriously. She was absolutely petrified and lived in terror,” he said.

Lisa’s mother, who would travel from Tasmania to help her daughter in distress, painted an even more disturbing portrait of her former son-in-law as she gave evidence, including accusations of animal cruelty, violence and “bizarre” behaviour.

“As well as not getting any support from Greg, he subjected her to physical and mental abuse on a regular basis,” she told the coroner.

‘These events happened too often to remember, specifically things like losing his temper for no reason and blaming Lisa for anything that went wrong.

“He would then yell at her, throw things at her and push her. I felt very uncomfortable when these events occurred because I was not willing to interfere and Lisa begged me not to interfere.”

Lisa’s mother told the coroner that her daughter had told her that any interference on her part would result in more pain and misery at home.

‘Greg’s behaviour in general would be described as bizarre. In my opinion he has a deformed mind,’ she told the coroner.

‘In the past he has done things such as killing animals and a neighbour’s pet, refusing to feed the children when he was supposed to look after them and, on one occasion, he exploded into a fit of uncontrollable anger when we went to dinner at the Macedon Hotel. ‘

Lisa’s mother told the court that Lynn verbally attacked a man at the bar after he made the mistake of speaking to Lisa.

He then became angry with his then-wife after leaving the hotel, she told the coroner.

“The only thing I would like to add is that as far as I am concerned, Greg is responsible for my daughter’s death due to mental torture inflicted by him,” Lisa’s mother told the court.

‘I know she lived in absolute fear of Greg. I accept from what (I have been told) about the circumstances in which she died, that she was alone that night.

“Greg was not there, however, his actions were the culmination of the fear and terror he lived in.”

The court heard that Lisa had kept a detailed diary of her fractured relationship with Lynn.

Lynn’s defense chose not to present any evidence of “good character” to the jury.

Lynn will appear in court at a future date for a pre-sentencing hearing for Clay’s murder.
