A 106-year-old woman, believed to be Britain’s oldest patient recovering from the coronavirus, has been released from the hospital.

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust said that Connie Titchen, who underwent hip surgery last December, was admitted to Birmingham City Hospital with suspected pneumonia in mid-March and diagnosed with Covid-19 shortly after.

In a statement from the Trust, the retired store worker and great-grandmother said, “I am very lucky to have fought this virus. I can’t wait to see my family. ‘
