Great British Bake Off star Dawn Hollyoak has died.
The former IT manager, who was the sixth person to be eliminated from the 2022 series of the baking competition, has died aged 61, her family has announced.
Dawn’s cause of death has not yet been revealed.
In a post on Dawn’s official Instagram page @thebakerdawn, with the caption accompanying a glowing photo of the late star, the family wrote: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our star baker Dawn.
“Not only was she an incredibly talented baker, but first and foremost, she was an incredible mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. Dawn passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. We will forever miss her, but we promise to continue her legacy at the bakery!”

The former IT manager quickly became a TV favourite after joining the baking competition in 2022, as her loved ones shared the tragic news on Saturday morning.
It was announced on Dawn’s official Instagram page @thebakerdawn with the caption accompanying a radiant snapshot of the late star.
Many TV stars and fellow bakers took to the comments section to pay tribute to the talented baker.
Show judge Paul Hollywood was one of the first to fondly remember the beloved baker.
“I’m so sorry to hear that. Sending all my love to the family, such a beautiful lady x,” she added.
Carole Edwards, who appeared in the same series of the competition and was eliminated the week before Dawn, also paid tribute to her dear friend.
She wrote: ‘I will miss my friend terribly, a beautiful and talented woman inside and out, fly high my friend, life will not be the same without you.
‘Sending all my love to the family. Xx.’
“This is devastating news… I only met Dawn once but was struck by her bubbly personality and infectious smile. She will be greatly missed but will live on in the hearts of those who loved her forever,” said Giuseppe Dell’Anno, winner of Bake Off 2021.
The 13th edition of ‘Great British Bake Off’ was won by Syabira Yusoff, who was joined in the final by Abdul Rehman Sharif and Sandro Farmhouse.
The beloved Bedfordshire baker earned praise from the judges for her baking skills, but was ultimately eliminated during Halloween Week in Episode 6.

Dawn prided herself on her steady hand and attention to detail, especially when it came to the intricacy required for the lace patterns on cookies.
Her favorite flavors to bake with were lemon, salted caramel, and anything with nuts in it.
