Rugby league is a brutal game – and it was horribly clear on Saturday night when Nambour Crusher Tom Colvin’s arm was bent at a right angle after being tackled in a game against the Kawana Dolphins.

Colvin sent a bomb back in the 52nd minute of a Sunshine Coast Rugby League Division One match when he was legally tackled.

The fast wing forward reached out to break his fall, but unfortunately the limb broke, causing it to stick out at a right angle.

Colvin screamed in pain as the tackler and several of Colvin’s teammates walked away in shock with their hands on their heads.

It was a shocking event for all involved, and not something those in attendance will ever forget.

Jordan Lanuto was one of the officials leading the match and he posted about the surreal experience.

“I was the linesman for that match on the nearest side and I wondered why the defender ran away, then everyone saw his arm,” he wrote.

Sadly Nambour lost the game 32-4 and are currently last on the ladder with just one win of the season.

Colvin recently entered the Sunshine Coast competition after playing juniors for the Wests Panthers in Maryborough.

The exact details of the injury are not yet known, or how long his recovery period will be.

The incident brought back memories of former Panthers Prime Minister Ben Ross’ arm broke on The Footy Show when he arm wrestled Wendell Sailor.

Former Brisbane Broncos, Queensland and Australian Kangaroos star Jharal Yoy Yeh also suffered a horrific ankle and leg fracture in 2012 against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Perth.

That incident put his foot in the wrong place and it ultimately ended his promising career.
