Miami Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose did not travel back to Florida with his team and remained overnight in a hospital in Houston after suffering a serious neck injury during Sunday’s game against the Texans.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel provided an update on DuBose following the 20-12 loss to Houston, where his wide receiver went down with the injury during the third quarter of the AFC clash.
DuBose was treated for several minutes before being carted off the field in Houston and taken to a local hospital.
McDaniel said there was “positive feedback” after DuBose had neck and head images taken at the hospital, but that staying overnight at a local medical facility and not getting on a plane back to Florida was best for the first-year Dolphin.
DuBose suffered the injury when he grabbed a ball thrown over the middle of the field by Tua Tagovailoa.
Texans defensive back Caleb Bullock made contact with DuBose at full speed, leading to the barbaric collision.

Bullock was assessed a penalty for unnecessary roughness after the play, with the Dolphins scoring their only touchdown of the day on the drive where DuBose was injured after play resumed after the lengthy delay.
DuBose was back on the field in the game for the first time since September after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 2.
After the loss, Tagovailoa blamed himself for DuBose’s injury.
“I’m my biggest critic when it comes to ball placement, when it comes to knowing where to go with the ball and all that,” Tagovailoa said. “And I just feel bad that I even put him in that situation, because he got hit. It was hard to move on after that happened.”
“I’ve heard good news that he’s doing well and recovering, but we all know I’ve been through something similar, and it’s not fun. You never want to be in one of those situations.”
‘But you also understand that this is a physical sport, a contact sport. And again, I just think about what I could have done to not put Grant in that situation.”
