The anonymous grandson, who is preparing to move abroad, posted a photo of the baffling message on the popular subreddit r/CasualUK on August 18, sparking an online collaboration to decode the heartfelt but indecipherable message.

Reddit user u/melinoya shared the note asking for help, writing: ‘I’m trying to look at this card my grandma wrote me since none of us can understand what it says. Any ideas?’

They explained that their grandmother, who has dementia, could not remember what she had written, making the task of decoding the note even more challenging.

A touching yet baffling note from a grandmother has captured the attention of social media after her grandson took to Reddit for help deciphering the scribbled handwriting.

Some users approached the task with sincerity, trying to make sense of the scribbled words, while others offered rather humorous interpretations.

One person guessed: ‘Have a nice day. I’m on your calculator. You’ll have 1 minute of g dolls of doom, grandma.’

Another wrote: “Have a good one. I’m on your roof. Will you get the mint dolls made? By G. Gram ma.”

A third commented: “Have fun in your canoli. We’ll ride your doo dolls. Grama,” while a fourth wrote: “Have fun in your canoli, we’ll ride your doo dolls, Grama.”

However, several users suggested that the note could contain well wishes for the grandson’s upcoming move, given the context provided by u/melinoya.

One person wrote: “Have fun in your country. I’ll be thinking of you. I love you so much, grandma.”

Another guessed: “Have fun on your adventures. I’ll be thinking of you. Much love, Grandma.”

The grandson responded to the comment, confirming that it may be the closest thing to what the message actually says, as he explained: ‘Oh, when I tell her this, she always says “Well, it’ll be an adventure,” so that might make even more sense.

While the exact content of Grandma’s note remains a mystery, the post has resonated with many who have faced similar challenges with their loved ones’ handwriting, particularly when age or illness comes into play.

One person wrote: ‘The fact that she wrote to you is lovely in itself, I’m sure whatever it is she loves you deeply and wants you to be happy.’

Another enthused: “I love these kinds of messages. I wish my mum had asked my grandma to write more towards the end, she wrote some fantastic stuff.”

“A Christmas card for my aunt simply said ‘happy birthday’? I would frame those types of cards, they are funny in their own way and make a laugh out of an unpleasant situation.”
