Gordon Ramsay has slammed the exchange rate for his Australian pop-up restaurant: ‘You have to take out a home loan in order to get in’

  • But the amazing price of a visit will set you back at least $495 per person

Despite the cost-of-living crisis gripping Australia, chef Gordon Ramsay is bringing his three Michelin-starred restaurant to Down Under for $800 per person.

The ticketed restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, will host Australian Chef Matt Moran’s Aria Dinner in the heart of Sydney from May 8-10, showcasing ‘the best of seasonal Australian produce’.

However, tickets for the unique experience will set you back $495 per person, including a seven-course menu, with the option of a premium wine pairing for $295—bringing the total to $790 per person.

A spokesperson for Aria told Daily Mail Australia the incredible price tag has been set because this is the first time the upscale restaurant has ventured internationally and the menu has been personally curated by Ramsay and Moran.

The menu features Gordon Ramsay’s signature dishes, including oyster raviolo and pecan praline.

Word about the event spread quickly on social media, with guests criticizing the exorbitant price.

At first many seemed eager to visit and bring a friend with them, but were turned away after seeing the cost.

“At about $500 per person, the food should be amazing,” one woman commented on Facebook.

$800 each?? Another joked: “If you take out a home loan, you can buy an entree!”

I hope this is an improvement. Another added that the song is too overrated.

Others said they would only be tempted to pay and go if Ramsay appeared as a guest for the duration of the three-day event.

“I’d love to sit at the chef’s table at Aria if Gordon Ramsay was on the road,” one woman wrote.

‘I’m collaborating with my good friend Matt Moran, and talented head chef, Matt Abiy at Restaurant Aria, with its fantastic views across Sydney Harbour, to create a menu that uses amazing Australian local produce while delivering 3-star Michelin quality,’ said Ramsay. List, is a dream come true.

Added Moran: ‘What an absolute honor that Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant made its first stay outside London at Aria.

“Gordon is one of my closest friends, and my dad spent five years cooking with me at Aria’s Kitchen before moving to London where he cemented his place as one of the best chefs in the world.

These Three Nights Will Be A True Happening In Aria’s 23 Years; I can not wait.’
