GOP senator says IRS was excluded from a 2020 briefing on an alleged $10M Biden bribery scheme

Date:

Senator Chuck Grassley says IRS agents were deliberately excluded from a 2020 briefing with Hunter Biden’s prosecutor about an alleged $10 million ‘criminal bribery scheme’ between Joe, Hunter and a foreign national.

According to a letter obtained by DailyMail.com that Grassley sent to Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who is prosecuting Hunter Biden on federal gun and tax offenses, the senator alleges obstruction of Hunter’s investigation by one of his lead prosecutors, Assistant US Attorney Lesley. Wolf.

Grassley says that according to IRS whistleblowers, Wolf “prevented investigators from seeking information about Joe Biden’s involvement in Hunter Biden’s criminal business deals.”

The senator refers to a meeting on October 23, 2020, during which he says Justice Department and FBI officials from the Pittsburgh field office informed Wolf and agents from the Baltimore field office “regarding to the content of FD1023 generated by the FBI alleging criminal bribery.” scheme involving then Vice President Biden and Hunter Biden ‘without any IRS agents present.

According to a ‘highly credible’ whistleblower, an internal FBI FD-1023 memo created in 2020 based on information from a well-paid whistleblower it allegedly says that then-Vice President Joe Biden and Hunter Biden each received a $5 million “bribe” from a Ukrainian foreign national in exchange for policy decisions. The citizen, a Burisma executive, allegedly also has phone recordings of Joe and Hunter which he kept as an ‘insurance policy’.

“However, the meeting did not include any IRS agents,” Grassley added in the July 9 letter.

The senator writes that “in light of AUSA Wolf’s alleged obstructive and questionable conduct during the course of his investigation,” he is seeking “clarification” from Weiss regarding the whistleblower’s allegations.

Hunter Biden agreed to a plea deal with Weiss last month, pleading guilty to two lesser tax charges and entering probation on a weapons charge.

However, two IRS whistleblowers, including 14-year-old agent Gary Shapley, appeared before the House Ways and Means Committee last month and alleged that senior Justice Department officials, including Attorney General Merrick Garland, interfered in the Hunter Biden criminal investigation.

Shapley, who helped oversee the investigation into the president’s son, claims Hunter Biden has received preferential treatment from investigators looking into his tax affairs and lying about a gun permit application.

Shapley pointed to a WhatsApp message sent on July 30, 2017 by Hunter to Chinese Communist Party official Henry Zhao, threatening him to follow his “orders” and saying his father was with him. Shapley alleges that he expressed his concerns about the WhatsApp message to Justice Department prosecutors, who dismissed his concerns.

Shapley also described an October 7, 2022 meeting with top IRS and FBI officials about the investigation into President Joe Biden’s son.

“I was there and witnessed this personally,” Shapley said during a Fox News interview, noting that Weiss began by saying that “he’s not the person who decides whether or not to file charges.”

Shapley claimed that the final decision was made by officials in Washington, D.C. He noted that Weiss met with Matthew Graves, the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, who was appointed by President Joe Biden, in March 2022.

“After that happened, I wasn’t looking to cash anymore,” Shapley said.

“I didn’t learn of that fact until October 7, 2022, so looking back to March of 2022. And that’s when David Weiss, on October 7, 2022, said that the DCUS DA’s office will not allow us to charge there,” Shapley responded.

Garland has denied interfering in the Hunter Biden investigation and insists that Weiss has full authority over the case.

“I don’t know how anyone can stop him from filing a lawsuit,” Garland said of Weiss.

“As I said at the outset, Mr. Weiss was appointed by President Trump as US Attorney in Delaware and was assigned to this matter during the previous administration.”

Garland said Weiss “would be allowed to continue her investigation and make the decision to prosecute in whatever way she wanted and in whatever district she wanted.” Mr. Weiss has since sent a letter to the House Judiciary confirming that he had that authority.

“I don’t know how it would be possible for someone to stop him from prosecuting, given that he has this authority,” he said.

Senator Bill Hagerty has raised questions about possible “political interference” by Garland and Weiss based on their conflicting statements.

Weiss has said that his prosecuting authority in the Hunter criminal case is limited to his home district of Delawarecontradicting Garland’s multiple public assurances that he could press charges in any district and is in complete control of the case without influence from Justice Department leaders.

Hagerty, a Tennessee Republican, told DailyMail.com in a statement on Friday that inconsistencies in statements made by senior officials involved in the Hunter investigation smack of “political interference.”
