Google prematurely announces “Pixel Buds A-Series” with tweet now deleted

Google seems to be a bit ahead of itself. This afternoon, as noted by 9to5Google and others, the official Android account on Twitter tweeted a photo of the “Pixel Buds A-Series” and said the earbuds “have arrived.” Except … they certainly don’t. Google hasn’t properly announced the Pixel Buds A-Series, which is expected to be sold at a lower price than the standard $ 179 model.

The tweet, which also mentioned the “quality sound and fast Bluetooth pairing” of Google’s latest earbuds, has since been removed. Google has a history of, well, tweeting about future products, but this seems to have been a mistake.

Google I / O 2021 will start in two weeks on May 18. But based on the wrongly planned tweet, it looks like the Pixel Buds A Series is all set to go. They may be introduced before the developer conference starts.

The earplugs have already appeared in a marketing email to customers. They look largely identical to the 2020 Pixel Buds, so we’ll have to see where the company may have made cuts to cut costs.

Pixel Buds A Series. Pixel Buds A Series. It really just rolls off the tongue, huh?
