Good Samaritan’s heartwarming gesture brings Mr Toys Toyworld customers to tears

A kind-hearted good Samaritan has helped dozens of struggling families pay for their children’s Christmas gifts after he generously footed the bill for every lay-by payment at a popular toy store.

The mystery man footed the bill for hundreds of toys that had been booked by 40 customers at Mr Toys Toyworld in Helensvale on the Gold Coast.

Customers were stunned when they received a call on Wednesday informing them that all outstanding purchase amounts had been taken care of.

Brooklyn Manu, who was paying for several gifts for her children, thought the kind gesture was too good to be true when she was first told.

“(I got a call saying) someone paid for your rest areas, can you come pick it up? I thought someone was playing a prank on me,” the grateful mother said. Seven news.

“It’s beyond kind, it’s really amazing that someone would do that.”

Other customers took to social media to express their gratitude to the “amazing gentleman” for the selfless act.

“My eyes instantly opened and I cried for a good 5 to 10 minutes. Something like this had never happened to us,” wrote one mother.

‘I can’t express how much joy, happiness… I have been feeling for the last few hours. Thank you.’

Store manager Aleka Riggs described the mystery shopper as “charming” and “humble.”

She helped many customers who had been struggling to finalize outstanding purchase amounts with less than a month until Christmas.

“I imagine there are many families who could have difficulty paying for these layoffs,” he said.

The latest act of kindness comes after a woman made a similar contribution at another Toyworld store in nearby Burleigh Waters four years ago.

The woman footed the bill for 80 reserved gifts worth a combined $16,000.

The unknown woman said she wanted to help others who are having a hard time.

A year later, an elderly Victorian couple paid for 82 gifts booked at a Toyworld store in Bendigo, in the state’s north.
