Ed Balls was forced to apologize during Wednesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain after swearing live.

The 56-year-old former Labor MP left his co-host Susanna Reid deeply alarmed after she said an explicit word during a talk about Danny Dyer.

The awkward moment came when they recalled when the 45-year-old EastEnders star appeared on the ITV chat show and used a profanity to describe David Cameron.

Ed recounted how he was in the studio when Danny had used the ‘T word’ when he was on the show in June 2018, when Susanna and Piers Morgan were hosting.

Remembering the curse word Danny had used, Ed asked Susanna, ‘Can we say that so early?’

To which Susanna quickly responded, ‘No, we can’t! It is on the Ofcom list.

But feigning ignorance, Ed replied: ‘So you can’t say t**t? Just checking!’

Susanna looked wide-eyed and very alarmed by his comment, before reminding her co-host: ‘You know we’re on the air, don’t you?’

entertainment reporter Richard Arnold later quipped, “You can say handyman though.”

To which Susana said: “He talked about David Cameron, who called the Brexit referendum with his feet up. That’s the T-word you mentioned.

Ed was then forced to apologize for his comment, saying: ‘I apologize. I did not mean that. Apparently she shouldn’t have said that. I’m sorry I didn’t know.

It comes after Susanna was left in hysterics after Hugh Grant’s incredibly awkward Oscars interview on Sunday.

The 62-year-old actor went viral when he shushed Ashley Graham and rolled her eyes in a red carpet chat that was later dubbed “the worst interview ever.”

Speaking on GMB on Monday, Susanna, 52, said the actor was “famous for being short with his words” after the show aired a clip of the awkward incident.

She told co-host Ed Balls: “I’ve been there on the red carpet, and of course the problem is if you’re the reporter, you know exactly who’s coming your way.”

‘It’s also a problem if the person you interview doesn’t want to give you an interview.

Consider ABC’s Ashley Graham. She saw Hugh Grant, who is famous for sometimes being a little short of words about him.

The Four Weddings and a Funeral star kept her answers to their questions as short as possible and made her obvious disinterest well known in the awkward clip.

Starting the chat, the bubbly Ashley exclaimed, ‘What was it like being in Glass Onion? How fun is it to film something like that?’

But he was met with an embarrassing response: “Well, I barely participated, I was in for about three seconds,” Hugh quipped.

‘It must have been fun though, you had fun right?’ Ashley said as she went through the one-sided chat.

‘Erm…almost,’ the actor replied while looking away.

Smiling and enduring the interview, the model asked: ‘What are you wearing?’ While Hugh offered an insightful: “My suit.”

Viewers at home were quite embarrassed by the exchange, as they praised Ashley for how she handled the difficult situation and called the timing “the worst” since Will Smith’s infamous slap of Chris Rock at the 2022 ceremony.
