Goldie Hawn has been with her partner of 72 years, Kurt Russell, for 40 years, but they have never been married.
Now, the Overboard actress has shared why the two have yet to walk down the aisle to say “I do.”
Chris Wallace was interviewing the 77-year-old blonde from Hollywood for a cnn special when she asked why she never married the handsome Escape From New York actor.
‘Why aren’t you two married?’ Wallace asked Hawn point blank on his show:
Goldie, who was in London last week, responded: ‘Why should we be? Isn’t that a better question?
Hawn also mentioned how expensive divorces are: “When it doesn’t work out, it ends up being a big deal,” the actress said.

Hawn married director Gus Trikonis in 1969 before their marriage ended in divorce in 1976.
She then had a six-year marriage to musician Bill Hudson, with whom she shares two children, Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson.
“It’s always ugly,” he continued.
“Someone has to look and say, ‘How many divorces are really fun? How many divorces really don’t cost money? How many divorces really make you hate the person more than before? How many divorces have hurt the kids?”
Wallace would not back down.
‘But [you and Russell have] been together 40 years, you’re not getting a divorce,’ Wallace pressed.

Sweet: The couple kissed on social media in 2021. “I mean relationships are hard,” she continued. They are not always easy. There are all kinds of obstacles that we go through. There are things we believe in, things we don’t believe in, that we agree on,” she told CNN.
‘How did you know that then?’ Hawn asked.
‘I like the idea that I can wake up in the morning and make decisions every day if I want to be here.
“I want to say that relationships are difficult,” he continued. They are not always easy. There are all kinds of obstacles that we go through. There are things we believe in, things we don’t believe in, we agree.
“So I think ultimately staying independent with independent thinking is important, so that you can hold on to yourself and you can really have that feeling,” she concluded.
Hawn took to Instagram to comment on the interview.

The couple have always been open about having no plans to get married.
And they have said in the past that they do not feel that marriage “builds a relationship.”
Family matters: Kate Hudson has always considered Russell her father; Hawn and Russell are pictured with Hudson, whose father is musician Bill Hudson, in November 2014.
“I would have been divorced for a long time if I had been married,” the Private Benjamin star said during the British talk show Loose Women in 2016.
Goldie and Kurt are considered one of the cutest couples in Hollywood.
They have worked together on Swing Shift, Overboard and their Christmas movies.
And they often look comfortable on social media.

In 2021 they kissed for the camera during a Golden Globes party: Hawn’s daughter Kate Hudson, who was nominated for a Golden Globe and served as a presenter during the ceremony.and.
Hudson was just three years old when her mother started dating Russell.
The actress has marveled at their love over the years, as have many fans around the world.
“They’re really cute,” she wrote in the caption of the photo showing Russell leaning in to kiss his sweetheart, who was sitting down at the time, in 2021.
Kurt has also been a stepfather to Kate and her brother Oliver for most of their lives.
