Joan Vassos, this season’s Golden Bachelorette, has responded to Martha Stewart’s recent criticism of the show, and she’s not holding back.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last week, the homemaking mogul, 83, was asked if she would ever want to be on the ABC reality series, which features seniors as contestants.
And, perhaps unsurprisingly, Stewart wasn’t at all interested in participating, even if she was paid a few million dollars per episode.
The Martha Stewart CBD founder confessed that she would “absolutely not” go on the show because “the guys aren’t attractive enough.”
However, Vassos, 61, stands up for his men and revealed that he even slid into Stewart’s DM to share his point.

The Martha Stewart CBD founder confessed that she would “absolutely not” go on the show because “the guys aren’t attractive enough.”
“I sent him a DM last night,” Vassos admitted during an interview with Access Hollywood this week.
“I don’t know if you’ve read it yet, but I did and I was like, ‘Dating is hard and I had a great group of guys,'” Vassos continued.
She said Stewart just didn’t know the guys from this season as well as she does.
“I got to know them both inside and out and they are both wonderful,” Vassos added.
“I feel like everyone is falling in love with them and I’m like, ‘What’s wrong with you, Martha?'” he said jokingly.
The show, which is currently in its first season, features Vassos as he tries to find love in a sea of 24 older men.
The men are between 57 and 69 years old.
Unfortunately, Vassos lost her husband of 32 years, John, to pancreatic cancer in 2021, according to AARPand appeared on the first season of The Golden Bachelor as a contestant.

Unfortunately, his time on the season was cut short as he had to leave early to attend to a family emergency, according to the outlet.
Currently, Vassos has narrowed his search down to just three contestants and it is still unclear who he will ultimately choose.
Hopefully, their new relationship turns out better than the one featured on last season’s Golden Bachelor, where Jerry Turner chose Theresa Nist as his wife, but only for a few months.
Turner filed for divorce from Nist on April 12, the same day they announced their separation after a three-month marriage.
Gerry and Theresa, 70, announced the news of their split on Good morning America in April, when they opened up about the reasons for their shocking split.
“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations and we’ve taken a long, hard look at our situation, our living situation, etc., and we’ve come to the mutual conclusion that it’s probably time for ‘We dissolve our marriage,'” Gerry told host Juju Chang.
The divorce was finalized in June.
