Ivona Jovanovic, 27, was left to die alone after being shot in the stomach

A young woman who was shot in the chest for a night out was left alone by her friends who called paramedics and then fled the scene.

Ivona Jovanovic, 27, was with a group of up to five people in a house in Labrador on the Gold Coast on Sunday at 8.30 pm when she was shot.

Police on Monday revealed that the group had fled the scene before paramedics arrived – although one of them remained on the phone until the ambulance arrived.

& # 39; By the time the police arrived, (they) had all left & # 39 ;, said Acting Inspector Brendan Smith.

& # 39; It's disgraceful. I'm sure if one of them were injured, they would expect just as much help from everyone there.

& # 39; Although they had called the ambulance, there was a lot of first aid at the time that had made the difference or not. We will never know. & # 39;
