Gold Coast road rage: Watch the wild moment a motorist rams into a ute before allegedly chasing men down the street with a knife

Wild footage has emerged of a motorist allegedly chasing three men armed with a knife after a terrifying road rage incident.

Video filmed by a surprised bystander on the Gold Coast showed Daniel Steven Wesley May, 23, allegedly crashing his Toyota Corolla into a Mazda BT-50 ute before chasing three men with a knife about 4.40pm on Saturday.

The Southport man has since been arrested and remanded in custody, charged with multiple serious offenses in relation to the alleged incident in Hollywell.

The video began with two men running behind and yelling at the black Toyota, allegedly driven by May, as it was traveling on Oxley Drive.

The Toyota turned around and backed down the wrong side of the road toward the men before going over the median and allegedly crashing into a parked car.

A 23-year-old man has been charged with a string of offenses after allegedly chasing men with a knife following a road rage incident on the Gold Coast on Saturday (pictured).

Three men approached the Toyota before a shirtless May jumped out of the vehicle and chased the men down the road, allegedly armed with a knife.

No one was injured during the incident.

May was filmed receiving He got back into his car and fled the scene.

The incident was reported to police and following investigations, May was arrested at a home in the Springwood suburb of Logan, south of Brisbane, on Sunday.

May was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a license, endangering the safe use of a vehicle by throwing an object and being armed to cause fear.

He was refused bail and appeared at Southport Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where his case was briefly mentioned.

The matter was adjourned until March 12. May remains in custody.

May previously escaped conviction for a previous road rage incident in December after throwing a screwdriver and damaging another driver’s car due to “a shitty day at work.”

Magistrate Sarah Thompson ordered May to complete 80 hours of community service after pleading guilty to one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, willful damage and breaching bail.

Daniel Steven Wesley May has been remanded in custody over the road rage incident. He appears in the photo allegedly chasing the men.
