A mother accused of dressing her young daughter in a Playboy costume and holding her hands while being raped by several men was taken to the hospital the day her verdict was to be pronounced.
The nine-year-old girl was reportedly sexually abused almost every second day for a year between May 2014 and May 2015, while her father was behind bars.
The Gold Coast mother pleaded in the Southport District Court for three counts of rape and one for maintaining sexual relations with a child, indecent treatment of a child, and deprivation of liberty.
The mother, who cannot be named, had to receive the judgment of Judge David Kent on Thursday afternoon, but this has since been postponed until Friday morning.

Lawyer John McInnes told the court that a family member said the mother had fallen ill, The Gold Coast Bulletin reported.
“She is at Northcliffe (tram) station and is served by push bike ambulance officers and an ambulance is called,” McInnes said.
The court was told that the mother was supposed to suffer from “psychological problems … that manifested as physical symptoms.”
“She was in a somewhat troubled state (on Wednesday) afternoon and I can’t say more than that,” said Mr. McInnes.
A woman who matched the description of the mother was seen on the CCTV that was carried on a stretcher at the tram station before being loaded into an ambulance.
The alleged abuse only came to light when the girl wrote a letter to her psychologist in which she said her mother “came in with friends and touched me inappropriately.”
The psychologist has reported to the police.
Judge Kent heard evidence during a three-day trial with judges only.
On Tuesday the girl’s father told the court that after 2016 she had tried to commit suicide three times.
On Monday the court heard that the girl had once woken up in her bed and discovered that she had undressed and an unknown man sat on top of her because her mother would have held her hands.
She later told the authorities that her mother would “undress her and be naughty” and one day she woke up with a “Playboy outfit with rabbit ears,” The Courier Mail reported.
She claimed that all men were different during the alleged incidents, and said she had heard her mother ask the men for money.
